Hanging page, Ergo Updates & Paperific!

13 Oct

Well lucky me I had yesterday off making it a long weekend – don’t you just love those?  Unfortunately it does mean I have to work Wednesday (woe is me you say!).

I just wanted to do a quick update for Devin and anyone else wondering how the Ergorapido was going.  Is it weird to be in love with your vacuum?  I have been zipping it out for little spot cleans here and there and I keep waiting for the novelty to wear off!  I think this is a fantastic machine.  I’ve done quick floor going overs in the kitchen/lounge for that after-weekend tidy and I used it in my scrap studio twice.  It’s fantastic to be able to quickly suck up all those tiny bits of paper and I detached the small hand held and used it directly on my work bench.  So much easier than dragging out a big vacuum just to do one room.  So all in all I can highly recommend it.  Easy to use, easy to empty, just plain easy :)

Last night I taught the 2H223 12×12 Chipboard Wall Hanger workshop to some lovely gals in Numurkah and they all picked different papers and colours to use.  I wish I had taken a photo of them all because every single one looked amazing.  Here is my version.

2H223-12x12Hanger

I just love that blue dots paper from the Kaszazz Flourish line.  Actually all the papers in that line are gorgeous, you can check them out in the catalogue on page 34.   I should start using them more often methinks!  The photos I used are of James and myself trying to get a “decent” photo together; you know the ones where he smiles in one while you are frowning and in the next you’re sittin’ pretty and he’s got a goofy look on his face!  Sometimes it’s very hard work to get that perfect shot – but you end up with lots of fun ones along the way.

I have exciting news to share – I am going to be at Paperific in Melbourne this November working at the Kaszazz stand!  Paperific is a massive craft fair focusing on, yep you guessed it – paper crafts.  I haven’t had the chance to attend one yet so this will be a doubly (is that a word?) exciting affair.  It’s going to be fabulous because Kaszazz have just brought out a very special offer for new consultants – an extra $200 worth of current product for FREE when they join – that’s HUGE.  So it will be a great opportunity for people to come and check it all out.  I can’t wait.  I’ll give you more details about the special joining offer and Paperific very soon, but if you can’t wait drop me a line at krismarr(at)iprimus(dot)com(dot)au now.

Have a great week peeps!

New Kaszazz Catalogue!

19 May

You weren’t expecting that one were you?  You can check out the new catalogue right here.  Be sure to take a peek at the card on page 173; it’s made by yours truly!  Woo hoo I’m in the catalogue!

There’s loads of lovely new goodies including two new paper ranges; Life’s a Beach and World Traveller, new co-ordinating rub ons and stamps as well as a gorgeous new alphabet stamp set called Carnival.  My Wish List is filling fast let me tell you!

You may notice in the new catalogue some price changes; a few things have gone up a little and some have come down, also a few products have been deleted due to lack of supply and manufacturer discontinuation.

Now don’t panic  folks you can still order from the old catalogue for a very limited time so make a coffee/pour a glass of wine, get out your old catalogue and grab your mouse.  Spend a little time checking if things on your wish are missing from the new catalogue and move them to high priority!

At this stage I will be placing one more order from the old catalogue and the bonus is that you can also order new items at the same time.  If you would like to order something from the old catalogue please email or call me before this Thursday [21st May] night.

National Training was a blast, especially as I has Katherine (my S-I-L & downline) with me.  We made two new workshops, Life’s a Beach Envelope Cards and Life’s a Beach Layout using the new papers and stamps.  The L.A.B. papers are bright and funky with wicked lined reverse sides.  I can see great potential for these.  I’ll update this with photo’s once I get organised.

I was spoilt with stamps; Sharynne and Deanne gave me my belated birthday presents – two new release stamps and we also got the new Hibiscus stamp as our thank you gift!  And yesterday I came home to find a lovely package full of all the new papers from Kaszazz, my reward for being an active consultant in the last four months.  All I had to do was achieve sales of $350 in each of those months, easy peasy. I love all the little extras that you get from being a consultant.  If you’d like the same opportunities give me a call and I’ll send you a no obligation Info Pack.  There is never any pressure with Kaszazz and that is one of the reasons I joined.

Ok if you are keen to organise a workshop get together with your friends hop on over here to see the latest 2H workshops and 5PQ’s.  I’ll also be running some new workshops from home so I’ll keep you posted.

Phew that’s a lot of info, I’ll leave you now to digest all of that.  If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Ebony & Ivory plus Mother’s Day

1 Apr

I have been a busy gal making my samples for two up coming workshops; the Ebony and Ivory Brag Book and the Frame It Gelati Mother’s Day.

Ebony and Ivory Brag Book

The Ebony and Ivory Brag Book is actually available as a quick kit for $19.95 which provides you with instructions and a huge bunch of SB papers and Bazzill.  I really think the E & I range is one of the most elegant paper ranges around.  It’s perfect for so many scrapbook worthy occassions; weddings, engagements, milestone birthdays; anniversaries; heritage photo’s as well as being a great neutral colour scheme for family and/or friends layouts.  It also lends itself perfectly to making cards, you can just get so many gorgeous combinations out of it.  There’s even a co-ordinating unmounted rubber stamp set too!

If you love the idea of quick kits which include everything you need to make a gorgeous project (just add your tool kit) and instructions to guide you, check out what else is available in the Ebony & Ivory range:

  • Surprise Box
  • Hinged Ring Album
  • Tag It
  • Chipboard Lace It
  • Cut-Crop-Assemble

Of course these are all available in our other fabulous paper ranges as well.  You can see all of them in our catalogues here.  These make a great gift too either made up or still in kit form for those papercraft friends!

mothersday

I think you can easily see that making the Frame It Gelati Mother’s Day workshop sample allowed me to have a play with something I’ve not really used before in scrapbooking – GLITTER!  It’s such a pretty colour too.  It’s called Rainbow and is a frosty, pale kind of iridescent shade.  I’m really happy with the result.  It’s great that you can buy chipboard frames from Kaszazz to decorate in your own style and they’re only $6.95 each – what a bargain!  I have an idea brewing in the back of my mind for a workshop that uses the chipboard frame in a different way, I need to sit down and have a play, I think it will work – I’ll keep you posted.  The Frame it workshop is $30 per person if you are interested in making this gorgeous keepsake for that special woman in your life – or even for yourself!  Just email me at krismarr(at)primusonline(dot)com(au) for details.

Happy scrappin’.

Kitchen Kapers with Kris

29 Mar

Hey folks,

I am going to start running workshops from home again.  It’s been a while but I really enjoyed having my little group at home.  Of course everyone is welcome and it’s a good way to get in on some of these fabulous workshops when you don’t have your own group of friends to scrap with.  You can find the May and June class shedule here -  kitchen-kapers-with-kris-no1 you’ll have to click again on the little picture of a page (not sure why it does that?).

Why kitchen kapers I hear you ask?  Well because quite litterally they are held in my kitchen and we do get up to all sorts of capers!  It’s a bunch of fun.

birthday presents from a scrapbooker

7 Mar

Morning all,

Well the weather has certainly taken an about face into the cold.  A shock to the system after the heatwave we had!  So does anyone else eat more chocolate when the weather is colder?  It’s not just me right?  Anyway I have a couple of family birthdays coming up in the next few days and for my uncle and granma I have decided to give them a block of yummy chocolate.  As the years go by it’s often hard to keep thinking of presents to buy people, especially if you’re like me and like to give a present that is wanted or needed.  And as people get older there’s really not much else they need right?  Except a treat – everyone always needs a treat!  This is also a great economical gift to give in these hard times and with some scraps from your stash and a matching card I personally think it makes a delightful gift (hint hint, my birthday is in April! ha ha).

So last night at our monthly consultant crop night at Sharynnes I made the gifts and here they are in all there splendour…

For my uncle’s I used papers from the new Kaszazz My Boy! range (see not just for kids).  Please overlook the unmatched blue cardstock – I was using up scraps after all.

With Granma’s I took inspiration from the Ebony and Ivory Bling Cards workshop which I taught on Wednesday night to my Numurkah gals.  I’m really happy with how all of these turned out and I would reccomend it to everyone as a fairly simple project with great results.  I would advise the use of a bone scorer to get those nice crisp edges on the chocolate block wrapper (and the card too of course), it makes life a lot easier.
I have been working on a post about un-mounted rubber stamps, a bit of a how to and why, so I’ll get that up as soon as I can.  BUT I am heading to Myrtleford to give these gifts to their recipients this weekend so we will just see.  I also have my cousins birthday (my uncle’s daughter) and she’s a bit of a scrapper too so guess what’s she’s getting?  It will be nice to head back to the home town for a bit of R & R and catching up with the family.
’til next time

March Challenge Competition

5 Mar

Already you may ask?  Don’t stress possums the February competiton is still running until March 20th.  I decided to overlap the two so I could get back on track to starting the challenges at the beginning of each month.

The challenge for March is PASTEL COLOURS.  With Easter on it’s way I feel inspired by all the pretty pastel pinks, blues, yellows and greens.

Now don’t feel you have to make an Easter card – you can make anything using pastel colours wether it be a card or scrapbook page or perhaps you might feel the urge to go off-the-page.

Speaking of Easter I’d love to hear of any traditions you have during this festive time.  I’m thinking of starting my own tradition but I need some ideas.  Leave me a note in the comments section.

Here’s my sample This is where my sample will soon appear!

Last day to get your entry to me is 31st March 09.  Remember you can check here for more details about challenge competitions.  There’s a $20 Kaszazz voucher up for grabs.  (Don’t forget to enter the “Feb comp” if you haven’t already done so!)

happy craftin’ and don’t forget to let me know about your Easter traditions,

Kris

Mr Monty

13 Aug

Little mister Monty cat has settled right in.  I hope he doesn’t think he’s here to stay!  He is so terribly cute though, but I must think of my other fur kids especially ol’ grey Scratchy as he’s not very happy about our latest visitor.

This morning I had a friend over to scrap and I finally did something will the left overs from the Cheeky Surprise Box.  I made a few cards and I still have heaps of patterned paper left.  The Surprises Boxes are a Kaszazzitem and they are only $9.95ea which is cheap as chips when you see how much paper you’re left with.  Great value and perfect as a gift.  I thought the colours in the pack would be perfect for some fun photo’s of all my girl friends.  The boxes are available in many different colour schemes and a little birdie told me there will be new ones coming out very soon!  Find them on page 3 of the Kaszazz Catalogue.  Here is a pic of the completed box..

and here are the cards I’ve made so far with the left overs

Not bad huh?  I’ve also got a photo of the very first workshop I taught which was the Stand Up Page featuring the large F chipboard.  My customers chose their own feature word to suit their photo whether it be Friends or Family.  They all came out looking fabulous and I think a few were surprised at what they were able to achieve.  I had a great time teaching it too.  I used a photo of my granma, cousin and I taken on Christmas Day 2007.  I used Photoshop Elements to change it into Sepia after discovering the sepia button on the Big W photo kiosk didn’t give a very good result.  I found the instructions on the Internet (where else?) and they were easy to follow.  I’ll definitely be referring back to them the next time I need something in sepia.

Stand Up Page

Stand Up Page

It’s great to create Beyond The Page projects that you put out on display rather than sticking pages in an album that only comes out occasionally.

Well I guess I’d better pay some bills, how exciting!  I got my tax back today which was a nice surprise as I didn’t expect it back so soon – thankyou The Tax Shop!  And it looks like rain so I best run out and get the washing off the line, God knows where I’m going to put it all.
