The ATC’s I forgot!

7 Sep

And almost forgot again.  I was just fluffing around on the Kaszazz website when it popped in my my head that I had to post tonight.  It’s a busy week for me this week as I have my new recruit’s first Make and Take Demo on Wednesday then Saturday is our National Training Day.  Plus the usual boring old office job in between hee hee!

Here are the ATC’s

There’s that love postmark stamp again.  These ATC’s actually inspired a 5PQ workshop which I submitted to Kaszazz; I was told it was accepted and would be appearing soon but alas I haven’t seen them featured yet.  Might have to chase that up one day.  I’ve used coloured ink on similar coloured card for a watermark effect.  The patterned paper is from the ebony and ivory range.  What do you think?

I’ve gotten lots of nice comments lately and I’d just like to say thank you very much to all you readers out there.  It’s all very positive and keeps me going even on the day’s when I have bad scrapper’s block, cheers!

Must fly (I WISH!)

Hi there!

I’ve been a naughty little poppit – I forgot to post my last lot of ATC’s for last week!  Hang tight and I’ll get them up shortly ok?

I am happy to announce that we have had a few more lovely ladies join our blog wars.  Be sure to check them out over there in the links, they are doing some pretty cool stuff you know :o )  It’s great to have the group expanding slowly….inch by inch.

If any consultants are reading this and would like to join in please drop me a line at krismarr(at)iprimus(dot)com(dot)au.  You will need a blog to post your creations to, but we can point you in the right direction if you’re new to this crazy + fun technology – we were all “green” at one stage and I myself have learnt so much since starting my blog journey!

I’ll be back soon..I swear!!!!

Blog War ATC }2

1 Sep

Hey Tuesday is almost over which is great for me because tomorrow is my day off woo hoo.  I have got some things to do, running around and what not plus I am catching up with my new recruit to help plan her business launch party.  Very excitement!

Here are some more ATC’s for you to peruse…

bwatc2

I like to call them the Pretty in Pink Trio.  So what do you think?  I really need to make a bunch of ATC’s because you really don’t have to think that hard when creating them, you just sort of let go and see what happens.  It’s very refreshing and liberating.

Ok enough waffle I’ve got to go rustle up some dinner

Later lovelies

Blog War ATC’s }1

31 Aug

Hello there friends, this week the challenge is Father’s Day themed ATC’s (artist trading cards) however I am going to be a little different and not confine myself to a theme.  ATC’s are so much fun to make they are like little baby artworks and you can pretty much do whatever you want with them.  Recently Kaszazz has gotten in on this gig by bringing out an ATC stamp set.  I was lucky enough to get mine free and I love the variety of words and sayings on it.  I also use many of the stamps on cards too.

Here’s two Ebony and Ivory styled atc’s.  The great thing about these is that you can use them to adorn cards too, just check out Naomi Elliots gorgeous asian inspired creations using clear atc’s on cards, just brilliant!  And don’t forget to check out what the other blog war gals are up to!

Ciao

Blog Wars Fluid Chalk }1

30 Aug

Happy Sunday everyone!  It is a gloriously sunny day here though still a bit fresh outside.  I’m thinking it might be a good day to get back into the gardening, it’s the kind of day that makes you want to run out to the garden center and buy a bunch of punnets to plant up!

And I know it’s late but going with the lovely spring theme I bring you my creation for the blog war challenge last week which was fluid chalk inks.  I use my fluid chalk ink all the time, there’s so many pretty colours and when you stamp with them they dry to a soft tone.

bwchalk1

For this card I used the fluid chalks on white gloss card, the trick is that you let the ink dry then buff the card to bring back the shine to the stamped images.  It’s really a great effect.  I even made a little bookmark with the strip of gloss that I had to trim off, see you can use up every scrap when making cards!

bwchalk1a

I tried to get a close up of the shine off the gloss card, it’s really much better in person :o )  I like the way this card turned out, very fresh and spring timey!  And the new season officially starts in two more sleeps woo hoo.  I love seeing all the new growth on the plants and trees like the Manchurian Pear we planted approx. twelve months ago and I truly thought it was dead, well bowl me over it has white blossoms all over it!  Spring really is an amazing time of year, so get out there and enjoy it.

Blog Wars – Male Cards }2

19 Aug

Hey there how’s your week travelling?

Today I have for you another male card, this time suitable for a birthday.  All products Kaszazz.

bwmale2

I just love the colours on this card, such a fresh, vibrant combination.  Now if you saw the card I posted Monday you might see some similarities between these two, namely size, shape and brads!  I like the larger square shape cards for men because well they are more blokey that a small card.  And I couldn’t help use the same brads because they matched so perfectly hee hee.  The corners are done by using a small hole punch to nip of the corner, easy peasy but the result is fancy pantsy.  Ok no more red cordial for me.  I’ve aged the patterned paper with walnut ink and the blending tool again and I also worked a little bit of this magic around the corner sections only of the base card (which is whirlpool bazzill by the way).  The patterned paper is from our All Boy range but it is suitable for many different applications – I’m actually going to use it in a workshop at training this weekend for a non male layout so pop back to see that one!

So dear reader what do think about this colour combo – is it right up your alley or would you rather see it in the dumpster?  Leave your thoughts in the comment section :)

Gotta fly

Blog Wars – Male Cards }1

17 Aug

Howdy Y’all (gosh I love saying/writing that, should of been born a Texan eh?)

This week in the blog war challenge we are focusing on male cards.  Which is a good thing because if you’re like me making cards for women and girls is easy peasy but when it comes to blokes I go totally blank!

This creation is dedicated to all the men that do great things and never get thanked for them!  A lot of the time us women whinge and complain that our partners take us for granted but I know personally that sometimes the same can be said of me.  Maybe it’s because we get used to them not doing much (or not enough according to us) that we simply forget to thank them.  This week I’d like to encourage all you gals out there to say thanks to the men in your lives; fathers, brothers, sons, boyfriends, husbands, the mail man.  Even if it’s only something little I’m sure they would be chuffed to know that they ARE appreciated.  And who knows?  It might just lead to some reciprocated thanks!

bwmale1

This card features papers from the ebony and ivory range and some yummy java bazzill.  I’ve run my crackle background rollergraph over the strips then embossed with clear ep.  The sentiment was stamped in bronze colorbox pigment then clear embossed too.  I used my ink blending tool and walnut stain distress ink to age the egdes of the strips and sentiment and the brads and safety pin are from our aged copper embellishment kit.

Here’s a close up of the embossing.

I really like the clear embossing over patterned paper, it just adds another dimension to your project.  So what do you think?  And who will you be thanking this week?  Let me know via the comments!

Blog Wars – Embossing }#1

12 Aug

Hey there how is your week going?  I’m enjoying my usual Wednesday off just pottering about the house :)

This week in blog war challenges it’s EMBOSSING oooh how exciting eh?  So far I have only made one card; I hope I’m not challenged out?  I do have some photos of a Kaszazz workshop that I recently made at training and it features some gorgeous embossing so I might share those tomorrow with you.

bwembossing1

This card was made using a resist technique with embossing.  I stamped the butterfly with perfect medium first and embossed it with clear ep (embossing powder) onto the white bazzill.  Then I stamped the background over the top with walnut stain distress ink – doesn’t sound right does it doing the backgound second?  I wiped the ink off the embossed image then applied lipstick distress ink using the ink blending tool.  The great thing about this technique is the way the ep resists taking on any actual colour itself so you end up seeing the original colour of the bazill through the image.  Cool huh?  You don’t have to stick with white either; you might like to clear emboss on a pale to medium pink or blue then use the same colour ink but in a darker shade to bring out your image.  The possibilities are endless.  You can also use a coloured ep too!

Once again I hae coloured my own strip of card to match the pink around the butterfly as I didn’t have the perfect shade of cardstock to match.  You just use the ink blending tool to apply the ink.  I love that lil’ thingamie!  You might also like to try applying the ink with a sponge for a mottled effect.  I’ve used my corner rounder with the guide removed to create my own scalloped card (another favorite tool) and faked some stitching with our stitiched stamp.  This stamp comes in a set with four other stich types plus rows of dress makers pins, scallops, safety pins, and buttons.

Ok I’m off to make a present and card for a dear friends birthday coming up on Friday – I won’t be able to post photos ’till the weekend as I don’t want to spoil the surprise!

Cheerio

Howdy again

I’ve got those photos ready of the workshop I was telling you about earlier.  It’s called Bahama Treasured Memories Cards and it’s a 2 hour workshop featuring embossing, stamping, paper punching and paint dabbers.  It used the stamp set Treasured Memories which I think would have to be one of our most popular stamps sets, and with good reason; these stamps are just so darn versatile and feature on many of our Kaszazz workshops.  Take a look…

2H325.1

2H325.2

2H325.3

Aren’t they just divine?  That Bahama bazzill is a gorgeous shade of blue and the other day I realised I have a handbag and a top in almost exactly the same shade!  You know you’ve gone off the scrapbooking deep end when you start seeing bazzill cardstock colours in everyday life ha ha!  Sorry the photos aren’t larger I don’t know what is going on with wordpress; I only shrunk them 20% when I saved them for the web yet once uploaded they are sooo small.  I will have to play around with that a bit more perhaps.

Catch you ’round like a rissole!

Blog Wars – metal embellishments } #4

6 Aug

Hello friends

Just a quick post today with my project…

bwmetal4

I have to let you in on a little secret…I don’t really like this card!  It was actually the first one I made for the metal embellishment challenge and though I do like the idea of it, I don’t think I’ve pulled off what I had envisioned.

The card base is the purple from the funky pack, stamped with pearl paint dabber and edged with black.  The purple piece on top has been rollergraphed with cherry blossoms and the plastic sheet stamped with the black paint dabber.  I do like the idea of this kind of layering but I think I need to try again!

What do you think?  Do you like it or do you agree that it’s not quite right?  Let me know via the comments please; I really want to hear your thoughts on this one!

Kris
