Blog Wars – Acetate/Plastic {day 3}

8 Jul

This is my very first attempt at a shaker card!  Not familiar with them?  Basically they are a card with a little clear window that can be filled with small items that can be shaken around eg glitter, beads, teeny die cuts, even things like coffee granules!

Acrylic Card day 3

I am pleased as punch at the way it came out and this defintetly won’t be my last shaker card.  I can’t wait to make more.  Do you like the subtle shading around the edge of the card?  It just black chalk from the pebbles set, looks fantastic doesn’t it.  I’m addicted to this chalk technique if you haven’t already noticed.

Everything Kaszazz except the ribbon – it came from a top, you know the hanging loops they sometimes have?  I often chop these off as I’ve found them on things like t-shirts which don’t really need them when they go live in a drawer.  Just a little tip for you.

Don’t forget to check out the other girls doing the blog wars and if you are playing along at home please leave a link to your blog or you can email me a photo and I’ll post it up here for you.

Chalks last stand {day 5}

15 May

TGIF!  Here is the last chalk project::

Chalk day 5

Chalk day 5

This little number was made with our pals Perfect Medium and chalk on black card.  For the little “photo” corners I used a rubber ahem eraser (sounds nicer right?), I also chalked the edges of the base card to soften it and add interest.  It’s those suble treatments that make all the difference don’t you think?  And if you think you are seeing rubber burn – you’re right!  It’s deliberate [of course] as I didn’t want it looking all perfect, it needed to be grunged up a bit.  Also I didn’t have matching ribbon so I used Fluid Chalk ink to tint it mauve.  Hurrah.  And a sparkly cherry on top!

I hope you had fun following me this week in my chalk inspired crafting.  If you’ve been breaking out the chalks leave a link in the comments below so we can check out your creations too.  No blog?  Just email me the photo evidence and I can post it up here for you.

Make sure to tune in on Monday for a Brand New Product of the Week.  Yippee!

Tonight I have a little workshop running at my house [cheeky cards] and tomorrow is National Training.  all.  day.  long.  Waahoo can you tell I’m happy about this?  Stay tuned as there will be a New Kaszazz Product Release with brand new workshops too.

Can’t wait.

Can’t wait.

Can’t wait.

p.s. TGIF not because of chalks – but because I love Fridays – gateway to the weekend!

p.p.s. this is the last post you can leave a comment on to go into the draw for this weeks projects; hop to it!!

Chalks {day 4}

14 May

Nice and early today!  So far so good with this blog war business!  Here is another chalk creation for you..

Chalk day 4

Chalk day 4

I used the medium folk heart punch to make a stencil and coloured it with red chalk.  I love how soft and fuzzy the hearts look, they sort of look air brushed.  And there’s a little peek-a-boo on the inside of the card which the lucky winner will see!  The cherish die cut is actually a stamped image punched out with the whale circle punch.  I love it when stamps and punches are made for each other like that, so many variations can be made.

Tomorrow will be the last day of the Chalks, what will next week bring I wonder…?

keepin’ it craftie

Chalks {day 3}

13 May

Hi there,

Here is my creation for today…

Chalks - day 2

Chalks - day 3

Made with Basic Brights chalk set, rubber stamps, circle whale punch, Perfect Medium and paper from the Gelati range.  I didn’t have matching brads so I painted our gold ones with paint dabber – note to self :: try sanding before painting next time!  It’s something a little fun and colourful for a birthday.  You can’t see them all but there are Ice Stickles on each flower and the candles.

It’s a little late but Mum and I didn’t do any crafting this visit so I had to whip this up once she was headed back home.  I will try to get on top of these posts so they are up nice and early for you – TRY being the operative word ha!

All products Kaszazz, check out the links to more projects under “Blog War Gals”.  Leave a comment to win this weeks creations!

Product of the Week – Chalks! {day 1 & 2}

12 May

Hi there folks,

As I mentioned earlier I have joined in with the Kaszazz Consultants Blog War, please check out this post for a full explanation!

This weeks Product of the Week is Chalks.  Kaszazz carries a great range of dry chalk sets of different colour groups including the lovely pearlescents.  I own the Basic Brights set which has proved a popular choice with my customers and I love the unlimited colour combos I can get out of it.  They are so easy to use – it’s childs play, yes really, it is.  The secret is that if you get chalk where you don’t want it you can just erase it, cool huh?  We do sell accessories to use with chalks such as a chalk eraser, applicators, pom poms, and stencils.  You can check them out in our catalogue over here on page 62.

So here is my creation for yesterday and today…

Blog Wars - Chalk day 1 & 2

Blog Wars - Chalk day 1 & 2

A gorgeous card for Mother’s Day in my Mum’s favorite colour; blue (I stamped the message inside, which I will leave off for the blog candy winner so you can use it for any occasion) and a little birdie notecard.  I’ve used the chalks here with Perfect Medium and un-mounted rubber stamps, all available from Kaszazz of course!  I used punched flowers behind the bird for something different.  Sorry about the setting – could have been prettier right?

If you’d like a chance to win my weeks creations please leave a comment on any of my blog war posts (one entry per person but you may comment each day).

Check out the other consultants creations by clicking the links under “Blog War Gals” over on the right [scroll down a bit].

Thanks for stoppin’ by
