If you haven’t checked out etsy yet then you really should!  It’s for crafters and artists to sell their handmade goods and the talent is awesome.  Here’s a few things that one may discover whilst browsing [and don't be misled by the US dollar prices; most sellers post internationally and there are many aussies artists who will give you an aussie dollar price too].

another use for scraponizers

12 Mar

Hello all

Just a short post as I’ve been wanting to share a fabulous idea a fellow consultant has come up with for using the scraponizer.

(photo courtesy of scraponizer.com shows example of craft storage)

Naomi has used her scraponizer to store everything ATC (artist trading cards) pop on over to this post she did illustrating how perfectly the scraponizer organises your ATC’s.

I just love this idea and think I will put it into use at my place since I am just starting to get into making ATC’s and it would be just awesome to keep it all together rather than having bits and bobs all over the place.

I’m also thinking about starting some sort of ATC group in the Shepparton area.  What do you think?  Would you be interested in getting together over a cuppa to make some ATC’s?  And possibly incorporating a swap?  Mull it over and let me know what you think in the comments section.

I will post the 3 ATC’s I have made thus far very soon (yes Kris like the pastel challenge sample? eeek I promise to get on to that after the big Kaszazz conference weekend).  Speaking of the challenge competition I have had some very nice entries so far – most exciting!

Ok must do some work before I leave

Stitches and Craft Show + Kaszazz Conference

11 Mar

Well folks I’m off to the big smoke on Friday.  Yes I am heading down to Melbourne with Sharynne and the gals for our yearly Kaszazz conference.  This will be my first and lucky for me this year it’s in Melbourne so not so far to travel!  It’s all very exciting, I packed my stuff tonight (so as I don’t forget anything) and I’m doing a last minute shop after work tomorrow for some jewelry to go with my dress for the presentation dinner thingy.  Nothing too flash just something to jazz it up a little, probably from Diva or Equip.  If I’d been more organised I’m sure I could have made something but..what can I say?   I (mum actually) did re-fashion the dress – it used to be a skirt in a former life.  I’ll post photo’s after but I was thinking of something like very long beads/chains/pearls.  They seem to be all the rage at the moment and since the dresses neckline is straight accross I think something long would go best.  Hmmm I really should have taken a photo for you.  Nevermind.

I am looking forward to meeting lots of other Kaszazz peeps and seeing BRAND NEW PRODUCTS at conference!!! Yippeee.  Also we get to make two brand new workshops so so awesome.  Don’t worry I’ll try to take lots of pictures so I can update you when I get back.  We’re staying at Quest Southbank which looks rather nice and is close to everything.

And not to detract from the conference but guess where I am going on Friday?  The Stitches and Craft Show!  It will also be a first for me and I’m terribly excited as now I am getting into sewing and fabrics there will be lots more appeal for me – not just the papercrafts.  I have been checking out some bloggers that will be at the show like Two Cheese Please and Vintage Ric Rac and I’m crossing my fingers that I’ll be able to meet some of them in person.  I won’t have a great deal of time so I’ll have to run around like a mad chook (angry chicken?) to get to everything I want to see.  Gosh I’m excited.  Sorry but I can’t stop using that word.  You know, the craft blogging community just continues to amaze me with their wealth of knowledge and friendliness.  Everyday I am finding more and more aussie craft bloggers and for me it’s just so darn (yep you guessed it) exciting.

Ok so obviously while I am away the blog shall be quiet but that doesn’t mean you can stop craftin’!  I know there are more of you that need to enter the challenge competitions so hop to it as March is umm well marching on?  Terrible Kris must be time for bed!

‘night all

bushfires – hand made help

17 Feb

Add This Button And Spread The Handmade Help Word!

Just a quickie for those of you who’d like to help please click the link above.  If you can do any sort of craft I’m sure they would appreciate your help.  I think it’s a brilliant idea and some of the donated projects are really inspiring.

The idea of making something rather than donating money or things from the house has me very excited.  How special would you feel if you had nothing left after the fires but received a gift that someone had hand made for you?  Even if it wasn’t a useful gift but just something nice to look at after all the horrible things you’d witnessed?

So now I am thinking what shall I make?  The website handmade help has oodles of ideas if you’d like to participate.  One other thing to remember is that many crafters have been affected by the fires; can you spare some craft supplies perhaps?  Imagine loosing all your fabrics, papers, wool?

How are you helping out?  Do you have any other helpful links?  Please post them in the comments section.

Thanks

Kris

inspirations

21 Aug

hello hello friends and foe.  Oooh that’s sounds all rhymey.  Special.  Sorry first for being slack in my writings and second sorry goes to my weird mood I am in.  I have been spending my days pouring over the writings of Angry Chicken aka Amy Karol.  This woman is a crafting godess and I am becoming obsessed with her blog, I want to be her.  Amy makes everything; clothes, dolls, toys, aprons, paintings, quilts, baked goodness and so on and on.  She is a powerhouse and has me all inspired, excited and worried that I’m being stalkerish!  So to celebrate the discovery of the angry chicken blog I have decided I need to set myself a challenge and that is…drum roll please…to make one artsy crafty project per month that isn’t scrapbooking.  So what do you think?  I’m a little scared as I’m not a sewer (that looks wrong) a quilter a knitter or any of those but I really need to push myself out of my cosy seat in front of the telly and explore other craft mediums.  Now I will of course, dear reader, relate all of this wonderful and frightening experience to you as it happens and post pictures too.  Don’t expect really well made stuff – remember I am a novice, but I will give it my best shot.  EEEeeek what have I got myself into?  Anyway I’m not sure if I can squeeze in a project for this month since we are so close to the end (can anyone say cop out?) however I will try to none the less.  Am thinking of something fun like a toy, doll or similar.

Am a bit tired tonight as last night I was in Numurkah doing a FREE Make and Take demo.  It was lots of fun, great sales and the host got lots of free loot – horay.  I might have some future workshops to do in wee little Waaii (did I spell it wrong – sorry) soon so that’s very cool and exciting.  I was able to snaffle some free lemons so tonight I cut a heap into slices to freeze as I like to pop a slice into my water or lemonade or fancy pantsy drink every now and then but I don’t always have fresh lemons.  Our poor tree has stunted growth due to neglect.  Must do gardening, must.  I still have some lemons left over so I’m thinking I should make something yummy on the weekend.  I love lemons, they are great for baking and cooking, and just so darn zesty.

Ok that’s enough of my silliness, for now anyway hah.

G’night

Kris
