blog header love

16 Jul

Did you notice my brand spankin’ new header up there?  Guess what?  I made it myself!  I’m so excited because ever since I first started blogging I’ve wanted my own customized header.  Oh and I wanted it for free.  So now I am totally satisfied (grin).  And I don’t think it will be the last header I make, I thoroughly enjoyed putting it together even though it took me ages because I’m so picky.  So what do you think?  Do you like?

In other news I will be able to show you that secret project I was working on very soon.  It has been finished off and sent to the recipient and I have had great feedback which makes me so very happy.  So all will be revealed possibly this weekend when I get time to write and upload photos.

I am now turning my efforts to another project, something quite huge for me and a bit scary as well.  I really want to get it all sorted out before I reveal it to you my friends so I’m asking for your patients once again.

How have you been enjoying the blog wars?  I have one more project for this week which I’ll try to get up tonight.  And I have to mention last weeks effort by Jo who made a super cute little gift box using the acetate/plastic challenge, take a look right here.  Isn’t it great?  I really really need to find time to make one of these now, thanks Jo!  Maybe I’ll get a chance tomorrow night when I head over to Sharynnes for another crop night – we’ve amped it up to every fortnight now so technically I should be producing a lot more creations…technically.  Don’t forget to tune in next week for the blog wars, let me just say there’s going to be lots of cute creations.

quick hello

4 Jun

Yes dear friends it will only be brief but I promise I’ll be back again as soon as I have things under control.  I am very busy working on some secret projects right now, they are so secret that I can’t even show you photos yet!  I’m really happy with what I’ve made so far, just hope the recipient likes it!

This Friday night is of course our monthly crop night at Sharynnes place.  We will be testing out a new workshop designed by one of our fellow consultants. I also have my night planned out to make some gifts for my Aunt who will celebrate her 60th birthday this weekend.  That’s not so secret {I’m fairly sure she doesn’t read my blog or get on the internet that much…I hope!} so I’ll be able to post photos of those creations.  I am looking forward to catching up with my family and friends in Myrtleford this weekend.  And hurrah it’s a long weekend….God save the Queen hee hee!

I was looking at Kaszazz reports the other day and saw that Katherine, my downline and sister-in-law had a fantastic month.  She only did two parties but her sales were excellent and she got workshop bookings from them too.  Congrats Katherine, you are doing so well!

This week on Blog Wars the girls are tackling “Once was White”, it’s not so much a product of the week more a technique I guess you’d say.  I would love to participate but time is scarce around here right now.  Maybe I’ll whip something up Friday night!  Anyway go check out what they’ve been creating for this challenge, links are over to the right.

I did say this was going to be short…so I’d better go now

Kris

Congratulations

27 Apr

I just wanted to say a big CONGRATS to Katherine my sister-in-law and downline consultant for doing her first Make and Take Demo all by herself on the weekend!  As nerve wracking as that first one is, it gets easier every time and your confidence will soar.

I look forward to our crop night this Friday with Sharynne and giving you more training and support.  And I’m excited that you are coming to National Training – it’s going to be a blast!

Good on you Katherine for taking the first step to a fantastic, fulfilling and bright future.  You go girl!

Shabby Chic, Easter, Kids Cards

14 Apr

SHabbyChicCouh2

I’ve always loved the shabby chic look – remember Rachel Ashwell and the whole phenomenon a few years back?  It is still going strong today as it ties in well with so many other great designs.  It’s such a soothing, tranquil and refreshing style.

I recently made the Shabby Chic Cards workshop and was very pleased with the result.  It uses the pastel cards which I often have trouble working with because they are just so different, but now I am totally inspired to bust them out more often.  There’s white embossing, watermarking and distressing with scissors.  They really are quite lovely as you can see.

If you are interested in the workshop drop me a line at krismarr(at)primusonline(dot)com(dot)au

I also started the A2Z of Scrapbooking at Sharynnes on the first Friday night of this month.  I’m yet to add photos so I won’t post it until then but you wouldn’t believe how easy it is to do these layouts.  Each pack comes with instructions and a bunch of words starting with the feature letter in your pack to give you ideas.  Of course if you’re beyond the beginner stage you can ditch the instructions and do your own thing.  I think it’s such a fabulous concept.  If anyone is wanting to get together regularly to work on their A2Z album then please get in touch as I have some options available to you.

Overall it was a fantastic crop night.  Mum did her knitting!  And I think my friend Rosie thoroughly enjoyed some time out.  Deanne made up the Kissing Cards workshop which now I just have to do, it’s an excellent technique to use with our new solid sillhouete stamps.  Don’t worry you won’t get ink anywhere near your lips!

Last Wednesday night saw me in Numurkah with my mothers group girls to make the Mothers Day Frame workshop – rather appropriate don’t you think?  I had to hide it when Mum was over as it’s part of her Mother’s Day present!  You can see it here.  It was great to catch up with them as we always have so much fun and laughs galore.

And Happy Easter to everyone – hope you had a good one.  We relaxed at home on our own which was actually very very nice.  I did some crafting and business stuff which I’d been putting off (tax stuff – urghh).

Aren’t they fabulous?  Our 3D Kids Aquacolour Cards.  I finally finished them after starting them at National Training yonks ago!!!  I will be teaching this workshop next month and my Numurkah girls are going to love it.

I also made this little journal book inspired by a Naomi Elliot workshop creation.  It’s for my goals for this year.  I had them written down but now they are pretty and I love to look at it every day!  It’s also got room for inspirational quotes and tracking my progress.  I’m happy with the way it turned out as it was one of those “free style” projects.  The cover is from the My Girl Journal Aids sheet.

I am proud to announce that I have designed my first 5PQ and will post photo’s once it has been accepted.  I think you’ll like it – lots of different techniques and looks.  And no it’s not the one I spoke about many moons ago, that one is still brewing in the background.  Also no it’s not cards – yay for those of wanting to more variations in the 5pQ’s.  I do have a few new ideas for some 2H workshop too - somebody stop me!!!  My brains is going to overload one of these days.

Though it may have been warm and sunny today don’t be fooled – winter is coming.  And one thing about cooler weather that I can embrace?  Winter boots and tights!  Hooray!

ps I’m trying something new with my craft photos – softening and blurring the edges..what do you think?  I still need a book on how to use elements!

birthday presents from a scrapbooker

7 Mar

Morning all,

Well the weather has certainly taken an about face into the cold.  A shock to the system after the heatwave we had!  So does anyone else eat more chocolate when the weather is colder?  It’s not just me right?  Anyway I have a couple of family birthdays coming up in the next few days and for my uncle and granma I have decided to give them a block of yummy chocolate.  As the years go by it’s often hard to keep thinking of presents to buy people, especially if you’re like me and like to give a present that is wanted or needed.  And as people get older there’s really not much else they need right?  Except a treat – everyone always needs a treat!  This is also a great economical gift to give in these hard times and with some scraps from your stash and a matching card I personally think it makes a delightful gift (hint hint, my birthday is in April! ha ha).

So last night at our monthly consultant crop night at Sharynnes I made the gifts and here they are in all there splendour…

For my uncle’s I used papers from the new Kaszazz My Boy! range (see not just for kids).  Please overlook the unmatched blue cardstock – I was using up scraps after all.

With Granma’s I took inspiration from the Ebony and Ivory Bling Cards workshop which I taught on Wednesday night to my Numurkah gals.  I’m really happy with how all of these turned out and I would reccomend it to everyone as a fairly simple project with great results.  I would advise the use of a bone scorer to get those nice crisp edges on the chocolate block wrapper (and the card too of course), it makes life a lot easier.
I have been working on a post about un-mounted rubber stamps, a bit of a how to and why, so I’ll get that up as soon as I can.  BUT I am heading to Myrtleford to give these gifts to their recipients this weekend so we will just see.  I also have my cousins birthday (my uncle’s daughter) and she’s a bit of a scrapper too so guess what’s she’s getting?  It will be nice to head back to the home town for a bit of R & R and catching up with the family.
’til next time
