recent kaszazz projects

13 Aug

A little while ago I spent a lovely weekend with fellow consultants at my team managers house eating, drinking, laughing and crafting.  It was a wonderful time even though I got the dates mixed up and almost missed the whole thing!

Some of us had organised to work on the same projects so we could share tools and materials.  I was thrilled that I completed four Kaszazz workshops over the Saturday and Sunday.  And I was able to keep up with Dee which is a miracle in itself hee hee.

Here are the projects I did, they are all Kaszazz workshops so if you’d like to register your interest please drop me a line.

This one uses Distress Embossing Powder.  I love the simple design and the flower colours.

These By The Sea cards use shrinky dinks and ink blending.  It was a bit difficult to get the blending right but by the end I really got the hang of it.  The seahorse is a little dark for my liking but I can live with it!

Sorry for the crooked photo!  I just love this layout.  The stamped sections shimmer with perfect pearls and the dragonflies are glittered.  So pretty.

These rocky candy crackle paint cards were a bit laborious to make but they look amazing.  I’m in love with the embossing on vellum and scallop punch flowers.  Oh and the colours!

I loved making every one of these workshops as they all used new and different techniques and tools.  I can’t wait to apply what I learned to some of my own creations.

Happy scrappin’

Design Adhesive Clear Cards

26 Oct

I’m back!  And with some awesome cards to show you too.  Last Kaszazz training we toddled off to Oxley, just outside of Wangaratta for a change of scenery.  Juene was our lovely host and she made some divine treats for us along the lines of jelly slice (my fave), hedgehog and trifle, gosh we were spoilt.  We had a play with the new design adhesives as some of the gals hadn’t used them yet so we chose a new workshop by Naomi Elliott (2H409 Daisy Design Adhesive Cards).  I love these cards, they are actually quite simple to whip up but look amazing.  I am becoming a big fan of these design adhesives, so far I have bought five different ones, I just can’t stop!

2H409-daisy-design-adhesive

Aren’t they cute?  These would make a lovely little card to give to a friend on her birthday, actually since there is no specific sentiment so you could use them for any occasion.  Sometimes it’s nice to send a card “just because”.  That Naomi is quite the innovator, her work gives me so much inspiration, she is always coming up with new ideas and alternative ways to use products.  Thanks Naomi!

cheerio for now folks, I hope to be posting a bit more this week :)

Blog Wars – metal embellishments } #3

5 Aug

Well today there’s a battle going on, between the sun and the rain that is!  I dare not hang the washing on the line just in case the rain wins.  But I’m not complaining; I’m home with the heater on and in my studio crafting, what could be better?

Here is today’s creation, I’m thinking I should give my projects a title, like a name…this one shall be called Thanks for the Hibiscus!

bwmetal3

The card base is our new olive card essentials A5, isn’t it lovely?  The hibiscus has been stamped with walnut distress ink onto some vanilla bazzill that has been treated to some misting (with gold perfect pearls), stamped using script, blended with shabby shutters distress ink then wet, distressed and crumpled.  Phew that vanilla has been through the wringer!  I put a bit of coffee card essentials behind it to add contrast.  And of course the twill is attached with our metal embellishment of the day – a brad.  Under the specially for you it says with thanks in shabby shutters but I think my ink pad needs refilling.

So do you like it?  It’s a bit different, I like the muted tones on this card and the tag feature.  Might make some more of these…one day!  Ok now I’m off to eat my homemade pork and bean soup mmmmm.

Mini Misters {day 2}

19 May

}Edit:: apologies for the two mister photos so far – I took them outside this morning before going to work and obviously it wasn’t quite light enough, sigh.

Here we are again…

mini misters day 2

mini misters day 2

You may be wondering how I incorporated the mini misters today?  Well if you look closely…closer…closer..see it?  I have mixed up a concoction of water, Vintage Photo (distress ink) refill ink and Gold Perfect Pearls in my mister and sprayed some Vanilla Bazzill with it.  I then used this paper to punch my flowers and stamp the sentiment onto.  Pretty cool huh?  I also used a bit of left over Feather Boa Bling from yesterday for the pink flowers.  I think they look really good together.

Now what will tomorrows creation be?  Don’t forget to check out the other girls in the blog war – see list over right.

Ciao

making friends…again

6 Jan

Wow I have been on facebook chatting with people I went to uni with way back in 1993 God I cringe whenever I say 1993 and uni in the same sentence, makes me feel sooo old.  I was a bit apprehensive about talking to people just because it’s been so long but so far everyone has been cool as.
Today I spent some time surfing some creative blogs, one that I visited was Elizabeth Kartchner’s blog; she was 2007  Scrapbooker of the Year.  She has the most gorgeous little family and some fabulous photo’s on her blog.  I love checking on other scrapbookers blogs as everyone has their own style.  That’s something that always stumps me – I don’t think I have a certain style.  It’s like if someone asks me what my fashion style would be I couldn’t answer that one either.  One day it will be skater chick, the next flowing skirts or platform wedges.  I guess I could just say eclectic?

ec⋅lec⋅tic

–adjective

1. selecting or choosing from various sources.
2. made up of what is selected from different sources.
3. not following any one system, as of philosophy, medicine, etc., but selecting and using what are considered the best elements of all systems.
4. noting or pertaining to works of architecture, decoration, landscaping, etc., produced by a certain person or during a certain period, that derive from a wide range of historic styles, the style in each instance often being chosen for its fancied appropriateness to local tradition, local geography, the purpose to be served, or the cultural background of the client.

–noun

5. Also, ec⋅lec⋅ti⋅cist

[i-klek-tuh-sist] Show IPA Pronunciation . a person who follows an eclectic method, as in philosophy or architecture.

Yes after reading that definition on dictionary.com I think I shall now refer to myself as an eclecticist.  Hmm bit of a mouthful though.
I finished another sample for Kyabram, the Fun in the Sun Stand Up Page.  I will post the photo tomorrow when I have some natural light to take it but for now here’s the bits and bobs I used to make it, courtesy of Kaszazz.  The Large Frangipanni’s are stamped on Java (mmmm) Bazzill and have had turquois  Perfect Pearls applied to them, ahh so pretty.  Not sure if it will show up properly…

sunstandup

Yes it did!  The hardware was originally gold but I painted it white with the snow cap Paint Dabber.  I really love working with Oatmeal cardstock.  I guess it’s the equivalent to what some people call kraft paper?  So very versatile and it makes colours really pop.  I used Oatmeal cardstock on my first workshop submission but alas I didn’t take a photo – what was I thinking – so you’ll have to send happy thoughts to Kaszazz in the hope they accept it.

Christmas and Halloween

21 Oct

No gardening yesterday.  I am dissapointed.  James had a massive night on Saturday working basically all through the night so yesterday all he was up for was snoozing and kicking back which I totally understand.  So maybe this coming weekend we will do it.  I did potter around in the scrap studio and I watched Nim’s Island which is a good PG movie.  I’m a fan of Jodie Foster.  Saturday was my Perfect Pearls Christmas Cards workshop in Katandra West with a lovely group of ladies.

They have booked in a date for January to start the Timecapsule Calendar workshops so I’m excited to be doing that as I wasn’t going to offer the workshop from home but this way I still get to teach it.  Better get mine finished now!

With the fabulous new Kaszazz catalogue out now there have been some worksops deleted because they use products that we no longer carry but never fear we have a whole bunch of gorgeous new workshop released with the new catalogue with more on the way.  Check them all out here: 2 Hour Workshops and 5 Projects Quick Workshops.  I have made an executive decision (I love that expression) to take a step back from trying to run so many workshops per month from my home as I’m really struggling time wise with my other job (4 days a week), James businesses paperwork and my kaszazz stuff.  Things are suffering and it’s just not good.  I want to be available to do more Demo’s and Workshops in people’s homes.  I will still run them from my house but just not the 4 a month that I was trying to do previously.  I’ll also keep having the Midnite Scraps as they are just too much fun to not run.  I’ve got to run the Waterfall Flip Album Workshop in November and am tossing up between two dates either Sat 15th in the morning or Sat the 22nd morning or afternoon.  I have two customers who are really interested in doing it so I might check the dates with them first.  As for December I’m not sure wether to try to run a w/shop from home as everyone is getting busy with Christmas, I’ll have a ponder about that one.  I’m hoping to start designing my own workshops very soon as the rewards from Kaszazz if my projects are chosen are very generous and it would save me heaps of my own pennies spent on product.  Stay tuned.

I will be working (Kaszazz) all through the Christmas/New Year holiday period so if anyone wants a FREE Make and Take Demo or a Workshop just give me a holler.  Orders can be placed with me any time via phone, email or in person.  I will confirm a final date for Christmas orders as we get closer – I don’t want anyone to miss out on their goodies for xmas!

Christmas tree.jpg

Sorry if all this Christmas talk has sent you into a spin but there is only 9 & 1/2 weeks til Christmas (ha ha haaa I’m evil I know).  Don’t start stressing yet as I’ll be posting and emailing more about the Christmas stuff as the weeks fly by.

Before we get to Christmas I am doing a little of Halloween festivities this year.  I have bought some decorations and was hoping to make some of my own too plus some creepy spooky food for my special Halloween Midnite Scrap on the 31st.  At this stage I have plenty of spots free and it’s only $5 per person to cover food.  Don a costume and bring your projects to work on, I’ll have tools available for use on the night as well as free help with ideas etc.  It starts at 7pm and you will need to book your place ahead of time as seat are limited.  I’m really looking forward to getting in the spirit (bad pun) of Halloween this year!

spook ya later
