New Product Layout

30 Nov

Wow Kaszazz has been bringing out new products so often it’s left me spinning!  At our last national team training one of the workshops was this cute as can be layout (2H690) with the new papers and rub ons.

Though this layout is geared towards baby’s or kid’s photos it’s also perfect for animals too.  I adore the colour scheme on this one.  That’s my little Clemantyne and Charlie boy posing for the camera.

There are some beautiful new papers and you can check out the latest catalog right here.  Loads of new stamps, embellishments and the brand spanking new Ezy-Press die cutting machine!  Here’s a link to the you tube videos to show you how it works.

Puppy Love

How y’all doin’?  I’ve been watching too many episodes of True Blood methinks!  I started this layout a very long time ago and didn’t really know what I was doing with it so it sat in the UFO pile for a while until I decided enough was enough.

That’s our darling Bella doing what she does best….not much!  You really can’t go past the old pink + purple colour combo :)

Blog Wars – Male Cards }1

17 Aug

Howdy Y’all (gosh I love saying/writing that, should of been born a Texan eh?)

This week in the blog war challenge we are focusing on male cards.  Which is a good thing because if you’re like me making cards for women and girls is easy peasy but when it comes to blokes I go totally blank!

This creation is dedicated to all the men that do great things and never get thanked for them!  A lot of the time us women whinge and complain that our partners take us for granted but I know personally that sometimes the same can be said of me.  Maybe it’s because we get used to them not doing much (or not enough according to us) that we simply forget to thank them.  This week I’d like to encourage all you gals out there to say thanks to the men in your lives; fathers, brothers, sons, boyfriends, husbands, the mail man.  Even if it’s only something little I’m sure they would be chuffed to know that they ARE appreciated.  And who knows?  It might just lead to some reciprocated thanks!

This card features papers from the ebony and ivory range and some yummy java bazzill.  I’ve run my crackle background rollergraph over the strips then embossed with clear ep.  The sentiment was stamped in bronze colorbox pigment then clear embossed too.  I used my ink blending tool and walnut stain distress ink to age the egdes of the strips and sentiment and the brads and safety pin are from our aged copper embellishment kit.

Here’s a close up of the embossing.

I really like the clear embossing over patterned paper, it just adds another dimension to your project.  So what do you think?  And who will you be thanking this week?  Let me know via the comments!

Blog Wars – metal embellishments } #4

6 Aug

Hello friends

Just a quick post today with my project…

bwmetal4

I have to let you in on a little secret…I don’t really like this card!  It was actually the first one I made for the metal embellishment challenge and though I do like the idea of it, I don’t think I’ve pulled off what I had envisioned.

The card base is the purple from the funky pack, stamped with pearl paint dabber and edged with black.  The purple piece on top has been rollergraphed with cherry blossoms and the plastic sheet stamped with the black paint dabber.  I do like the idea of this kind of layering but I think I need to try again!

What do you think?  Do you like it or do you agree that it’s not quite right?  Let me know via the comments please; I really want to hear your thoughts on this one!

Blog Wars – Bears {project 4}

23 Jul

This week we’ve been making paper creations with Teddy Bears and it got me thinking about childhood toys.  Did you have a teddy bear when you were little?  I had one that was similar to Big Ted on Playschool, as well as a large Pink Panther which was later paired with a mini pink panther.  My most loved though was a little lamb by the name of Lamby (of course) who had a rattle in her head.  I dressed her in a handmade crocheted dolls dress, the same dress I once put on my cat while she was sleeping….I have a photo somewhere, animals can be so tolerant!  I still have Lamby, she is safely tucked away in a pillowcase in the linen closet and now I really feeling like pulling her out and giving her a cuddle, ahh sweet memories.

Anyway here is today’s creation, a gorgeous little box just the right size for a few treats or a nice surprise.

I embossed the pinecone bazzill with perfect medium and the ornate leaves rollergraph before I folded it up.  The old bear was stamped onto some ebony and ivory paper with walnut distress ink (love that stuff) which I also used on the edges of the box lid.  I was really happy with the embossing as the texture of the bazzill came through giving it a nice linen type look.  I decided I need to try imperfect embossing for a more distressed look; so that’s on my growing to do list now.  I don’t know why I’ve never made any little boxes before – they are so, so simple and I think I might be able to attempt Jo’s acetate box now!

Did you see the sweet baby layout that Tina made on Tuesday?  Great idea for a mum to be.  Ahh if only there were more hours in the day for me to create and play!

blog wars – black {day 4}

2 Jul

For my card below I finally got to try out one of my new rollergraphs: the crackle background.  I embossed it onto the black card base with clear embossing powder for a subtle background then used the new mini messages and doodle designs stamps.  I love the cursive writing on the messages and the doodle designs are a great set of stamps.  There is actually two sets and you bet I plan on buying the other one too!

So what do you think?  It’s a bit different isn’t it?  Oh and don’t ask me how I did the ribbon, it went from ribbon disaster to ribbon burst!  Not sure if I will be able to post another project for this week but make sure you come back next week to see what the challenge is.
