…it’s almost Christmas!

21 Dec

Can you believe it?  Only four sleeps to go!  I can honestly say that I am pretty much organised, I only need to do one small grocery shop for fresh fruit and veggies and that’s it.  Are you all organised or do you think you’ll be doing a mad dash to the shops at the last minute?  If so I wish you luck!!!

I just wanted to wish you all a very merry Christmas or just a happy time if you celebrate something else.  As the days get busier I don’t know when I will be able to post next so I’ll sign off now for a wee little break.  I’ll try to post after Christmas but if not it will be after New Years.

I’ve also made an executive decision (pretty easy to do when you’re the boss) that I will start running workshops from home in February as I know most of us are pretty flat out in Jan especially those of us with kids on school holidays!  I will however be having a FREE Make and Take Demo on the last weekend of January to showcase the brand new products in the Jan release.  Make sure to mark it in your diary, I’m thinking Saturday the 30th from 10-2pm.  You don’t have to come for the whole day (but you are more than welcome to!) but I will ask for RSVP’s so I can organise gifts and prizes for all those attending.

I will put up a special post with all the details very soon as well as letting all customers on my mailing list know.  If you’d like to join the mailing list simply drop me a line at krismarr(at)iprimus(dot)com(dot)au – minus the brackets of course!

Well happy holidays folks, I hope you can find some quiet time for yourself to just sit, relax and reflect on this past year and dream about the possibilities for 2010!  Best wishes and warm hugs dear readers, thank you for your comments and support.

Christmas in July

15 Jul

Are you celebrating Christmas in July this year?  Kaszazz is, with a mini release on the 17th!  Woohoo how exciting…I can tell you now that there will be gorgeous new Christmas papers and stamps plus a little somethin’ somethin’ in the recipes department, intrigued?  I myself am dying of suspense!  Here’s a sneaky peak…

 NewProductsFlier_2009Jul_Preview

I know it’s hard to bring yourself to think about Christmas when it seems so far away but really how many of us leave those xmas cards and projects to the last minute?  Guilty (raises hand).  This year I’ll be darned if it’s going to happen again and if you feel the same way why not book a FREE Make and Take to see some new ideas for christmas cards and start gathering your supplies and earn FREE goodies to boot?  You could even make it a christmas theme party with egg nog and Santa hats {no egg nog for me though or we could end up with some pretty interesting cards!}  So dust off those decorations and give me a call to help you organise your little soiree.

Still got last years christmas photos sitting in box getting dusty?  Why not book a workshop to get them onto a layout with the new paper range?  As a workshop host you still get access to all the host FREEbies too.  You could even start your christmas shopping early – we have lots of lovely kits available. So what are you waiting for?  It’s a good excuse for a party at any rate yipee!

Drop me a line at krismarr(at)iprimus(dot)com(dot)au to book your party today.  As a bonus I’ll give the first 3 people to book an extra FREEbie gift, just be sure to mention this blog post, easy peasy right?  Oh and if you just want to place an order you can just do that too, just email it through.

cheers

Shabby Chic, Easter, Kids Cards

14 Apr

SHabbyChicCouh2

I’ve always loved the shabby chic look – remember Rachel Ashwell and the whole phenomenon a few years back?  It is still going strong today as it ties in well with so many other great designs.  It’s such a soothing, tranquil and refreshing style.

I recently made the Shabby Chic Cards workshop and was very pleased with the result.  It uses the pastel cards which I often have trouble working with because they are just so different, but now I am totally inspired to bust them out more often.  There’s white embossing, watermarking and distressing with scissors.  They really are quite lovely as you can see.

If you are interested in the workshop drop me a line at krismarr(at)primusonline(dot)com(dot)au

I also started the A2Z of Scrapbooking at Sharynnes on the first Friday night of this month.  I’m yet to add photos so I won’t post it until then but you wouldn’t believe how easy it is to do these layouts.  Each pack comes with instructions and a bunch of words starting with the feature letter in your pack to give you ideas.  Of course if you’re beyond the beginner stage you can ditch the instructions and do your own thing.  I think it’s such a fabulous concept.  If anyone is wanting to get together regularly to work on their A2Z album then please get in touch as I have some options available to you.

Overall it was a fantastic crop night.  Mum did her knitting!  And I think my friend Rosie thoroughly enjoyed some time out.  Deanne made up the Kissing Cards workshop which now I just have to do, it’s an excellent technique to use with our new solid sillhouete stamps.  Don’t worry you won’t get ink anywhere near your lips!

Last Wednesday night saw me in Numurkah with my mothers group girls to make the Mothers Day Frame workshop – rather appropriate don’t you think?  I had to hide it when Mum was over as it’s part of her Mother’s Day present!  You can see it here.  It was great to catch up with them as we always have so much fun and laughs galore.

And Happy Easter to everyone – hope you had a good one.  We relaxed at home on our own which was actually very very nice.  I did some crafting and business stuff which I’d been putting off (tax stuff – urghh).

3d-kids

Aren’t they fabulous?  Our 3D Kids Aquacolour Cards.  I finally finished them after starting them at National Training yonks ago!!!  I will be teaching this workshop next month and my Numurkah girls are going to love it.

I also made this little journal book inspired by a Naomi Elliot workshop creation.  It’s for my goals for this year.  I had them written down but now they are pretty and I love to look at it every day!  It’s also got room for inspirational quotes and tracking my progress.  I’m happy with the way it turned out as it was one of those “free style” projects.  The cover is from the My Girl Journal Aids sheet.

I am proud to announce that I have designed my first 5PQ and will post photo’s once it has been accepted.  I think you’ll like it – lots of different techniques and looks.  And no it’s not the one I spoke about many moons ago, that one is still brewing in the background.  Also no it’s not cards – yay for those of wanting to more variations in the 5pQ’s.  I do have a few new ideas for some 2H workshop too - somebody stop me!!!  My brains is going to overload one of these days.

Though it may have been warm and sunny today don’t be fooled – winter is coming.  And one thing about cooler weather that I can embrace?  Winter boots and tights!  Hooray!

ps I’m trying something new with my craft photos – softening and blurring the edges..what do you think?  I still need a book on how to use elements!

Ebony & Ivory plus Mother’s Day

1 Apr

I have been a busy gal making my samples for two up coming workshops; the Ebony and Ivory Brag Book and the Frame It Gelati Mother’s Day.

Ebony and Ivory Brag Book

The Ebony and Ivory Brag Book is actually available as a quick kit for $19.95 which provides you with instructions and a huge bunch of SB papers and Bazzill.  I really think the E & I range is one of the most elegant paper ranges around.  It’s perfect for so many scrapbook worthy occassions; weddings, engagements, milestone birthdays; anniversaries; heritage photo’s as well as being a great neutral colour scheme for family and/or friends layouts.  It also lends itself perfectly to making cards, you can just get so many gorgeous combinations out of it.  There’s even a co-ordinating unmounted rubber stamp set too!

If you love the idea of quick kits which include everything you need to make a gorgeous project (just add your tool kit) and instructions to guide you, check out what else is available in the Ebony & Ivory range:

  • Surprise Box
  • Hinged Ring Album
  • Tag It
  • Chipboard Lace It
  • Cut-Crop-Assemble

Of course these are all available in our other fabulous paper ranges as well.  You can see all of them in our catalogues here.  These make a great gift too either made up or still in kit form for those papercraft friends!

mothersday

I think you can easily see that making the Frame It Gelati Mother’s Day workshop sample allowed me to have a play with something I’ve not really used before in scrapbooking – GLITTER!  It’s such a pretty colour too.  It’s called Rainbow and is a frosty, pale kind of iridescent shade.  I’m really happy with the result.  It’s great that you can buy chipboard frames from Kaszazz to decorate in your own style and they’re only $6.95 each – what a bargain!  I have an idea brewing in the back of my mind for a workshop that uses the chipboard frame in a different way, I need to sit down and have a play, I think it will work – I’ll keep you posted.  The Frame it workshop is $30 per person if you are interested in making this gorgeous keepsake for that special woman in your life – or even for yourself!  Just email me at krismarr(at)primusonline(dot)com(au) for details.

Happy scrappin’.

Kitchen Kapers with Kris

29 Mar

Hey folks,

I am going to start running workshops from home again.  It’s been a while but I really enjoyed having my little group at home.  Of course everyone is welcome and it’s a good way to get in on some of these fabulous workshops when you don’t have your own group of friends to scrap with.  You can find the May and June class shedule here -  kitchen-kapers-with-kris-no1 you’ll have to click again on the little picture of a page (not sure why it does that?).

Why kitchen kapers I hear you ask?  Well because quite litterally they are held in my kitchen and we do get up to all sorts of capers!  It’s a bunch of fun.

Stitches and Craft Show + Kaszazz Conference

11 Mar

Well folks I’m off to the big smoke on Friday.  Yes I am heading down to Melbourne with Sharynne and the gals for our yearly Kaszazz conference.  This will be my first and lucky for me this year it’s in Melbourne so not so far to travel!  It’s all very exciting, I packed my stuff tonight (so as I don’t forget anything) and I’m doing a last minute shop after work tomorrow for some jewelry to go with my dress for the presentation dinner thingy.  Nothing too flash just something to jazz it up a little, probably from Diva or Equip.  If I’d been more organised I’m sure I could have made something but..what can I say?   I (mum actually) did re-fashion the dress – it used to be a skirt in a former life.  I’ll post photo’s after but I was thinking of something like very long beads/chains/pearls.  They seem to be all the rage at the moment and since the dresses neckline is straight accross I think something long would go best.  Hmmm I really should have taken a photo for you.  Nevermind.

I am looking forward to meeting lots of other Kaszazz peeps and seeing BRAND NEW PRODUCTS at conference!!! Yippeee.  Also we get to make two brand new workshops so so awesome.  Don’t worry I’ll try to take lots of pictures so I can update you when I get back.  We’re staying at Quest Southbank which looks rather nice and is close to everything.

And not to detract from the conference but guess where I am going on Friday?  The Stitches and Craft Show!  It will also be a first for me and I’m terribly excited as now I am getting into sewing and fabrics there will be lots more appeal for me – not just the papercrafts.  I have been checking out some bloggers that will be at the show like Two Cheese Please and Vintage Ric Rac and I’m crossing my fingers that I’ll be able to meet some of them in person.  I won’t have a great deal of time so I’ll have to run around like a mad chook (angry chicken?) to get to everything I want to see.  Gosh I’m excited.  Sorry but I can’t stop using that word.  You know, the craft blogging community just continues to amaze me with their wealth of knowledge and friendliness.  Everyday I am finding more and more aussie craft bloggers and for me it’s just so darn (yep you guessed it) exciting.

Ok so obviously while I am away the blog shall be quiet but that doesn’t mean you can stop craftin’!  I know there are more of you that need to enter the challenge competitions so hop to it as March is umm well marching on?  Terrible Kris must be time for bed!

open day

5 Feb

There is so much going on I just don’t know if I’m Arthur or Martha.  Gosh don’t take that the wrong way! Ha ha ha!

This Saturday is our Kaszazz Open Day.  It’s being held at the Salvation Army Hall (I’m told it has great air conditioning – yay) on the corner of Orr and Nixon Street in Shepparton from 10 am until 2pm.  So if you’re going to be in town and you’re looking for a cool resting spot come on by!  There are hourly giveaways going off and a Major Prize full of lots of brand new product ($100 worth).  To be in the running for the Major Prize all you need to do is book a FREE Make and Take or workshop from 7th of Feb to 7th March.  How great is that – you will also get lots of goodies just by hosting the event, you can’t go wrong!  I would love to meet any readers of this blog and catch up with my regular customers so please drop in and introduce yourself.  You can also have a play with some of our brand new products – we are doing FREE make and takes all day too.  Wow it’s going to be a fabulous day.

If you have any questions feel free to give me a call on 0400 576 190.

new workshops

2 Feb

Golly gee where did the week go to?  I had a lovely extra long weekend off thanks to Australia Day and my nice boss, Saturday through Wednesday!  It was great, Mum came over for a visit.  We did some shopping but generally just puttered around as it’s been soooo hot.  It’s been over 40 degrees celcius for the last couple of days and predicted to continue through the weekend.  Yikes!  I did snaffle some delicious mushroom print fabric from Spotlight at only $5 per metre, should I have bought more?

Kaszazz have just added a plethora of new workshops and guess what?  Yes my two workshop submissions made it in!  Hooray for me.  The workshops are 2H176 First Christmas Trifold and 2H184 Family Brag Book Mini Album.  I am just waiting for Kaszazz to upload the new workshops to their on line flyer then I will post a link.  How very exciting – I should have some Kaszazz vouchers coming my way very soon, bonus.

This week I have sent in 3 Make and Take submissions and I just realised right this minute that I forgot to take photo’s of them, darn it.  I have two of them made for myself already so I can photograph those but the third I will just have to make another sample and hope it turns out as perfect as the one I sent in!

This Saturday I am doing my Team Training with a bunch of other consultants who weren’t able to make the official day.  We will be making some of the new workshops that were releases with the new products.  I will pop some pictures up here very soon.

Stay tuned

Kris

update: another weekend gone too!  Training was fantastic, met some new consultants and did some business training, and made two of the new workshops using the brand new stamps and papers – just gorgeous!

Watch this space for my NEW product highlight section!  Over the next few months I will post about a feature product with info, tips and examples of how to use it to help you choose the right product with confidence.  There is a lot of scrapbooking and card making supplies out there and I’d like to help you find your way so you can buy quality products that suit your needs.  It’s so easy to spend a small fortune on scrapping supplies that you may never use – hey I’ve been there myself.  Unfortunately I didn’t have a guide when I first started paper crafting so I’ve learnt the hard way!  Now I’m with Kaszazz I have this fantastic opportunity to help others with their crafting and this is what motivates me the most.  I’ll never tell you that you HAVE to buy a certain product but I WILL try to inform you as best I can so YOU can make the right choice for yourself.  This is my promise to you.

until next time

Kris
